She has a way of setting you up for success and leaving room for your creativity. You will get a small class size with lots of individual attention to problem-solve what you are curious to learn in the moment. Join this wonderful course over 4 Monday afternoons at the beautiful Artist Studio Loft above the Antique Emporium.

Into the Woods - Beginner 2 Oil Painting Class

Into the Woods

Come join us on Mondays from noon to 2:30pm for a 3-week course creating a painting of beautiful light in the woods. Through a deep understanding of colour mixing, and a thoughtful teaching techniques, artist and arts educator, Shannon Dickie, will guide you to make your own beautiful woods scene. Participants can choose between a 12 x 16 inch painting or 18 x 24 inch painting with 2 ticket options. Those who select 18 x 24 will have the option for class to be from 11:30am-2:30pm.

Day 1 - Layout the image, create a base layer for the painting with tree trunks

Day 2 - Fill in the colours of the trees leaves and ground

Day 3 - Final details

If you are unable to attend one of the classes, you can get ahead by joining February 24th.

Let's Make a Seascape

Are you curious about creating a magical seascape? Learn tips and tricks of capturing water through gestures and colour mixing that will capture that gorgeous image of water from your favourite vacation spot.

Artist, Shannon Dickie, will guide you through the process of selecting an image to be successful with, and mixing colours to match the subtle colour changes of water.

Join us for a lovely day and leave with a gorgeous 12 x 16 painting. The workshop is intended to be 4 hours with a 30 minute break for lunch catered by Nora's.

Workshop created with artists in mind. Participants can range from beginner to intermediate.

This series of paintings capture the play of light as the sun sets. Inspired by urban environments with people in motion, these works aim to harness the energy of light and movement. Embracing moments through a thoughtful colour palette and use of blur, the artist captures both the motion of the figures and a fleeting moment in time.
